Get to know Karen

Karen Sargeant has worked in the medical aesthetics industry for over 26 years, building a career as a practitioner, trainer, educator and business consultant. Throughout this time, she has worked closely with women from all backgrounds, listening to their experiences and gaining a deep understanding of how physical health, emotional wellbeing and confidence are often closely connected.

Her passion for supporting people began through her work in aesthetics, where conversations with clients and colleagues highlighted the wider impact that stress, anxiety, hormonal changes and life transitions can have on mental health, relationships, confidence and overall wellbeing. This led Karen to establish Charlie Oscar, a training organisation focused on improving mental health and wellness in the workplace, helping businesses create cultures where people feel supported, valued and understood.

With her strong background in education and training, Karen is passionate about increasing awareness of women’s health and creating workplaces where conversations around topics such as menopause are normalised, respected and supported. She believes that understanding the impact of menopause — both physically and emotionally — is essential in building compassionate, inclusive and productive working environments.

“Women spend a significant part of their lives in the workplace, and creating an environment where they feel heard, respected and supported should be central to every organisation,” Karen explains. “By improving awareness and encouraging open conversations, we can help remove stigma, support wellbeing and allow people to thrive both personally and professionally.”

Karen’s aim is to champion a kinder approach to workplace wellbeing — one that recognises the connection between physical and mental health and empowers organisations to support their people with understanding, empathy and practical solutions.
